ClassNK,the International ship classification society headquartered in Tokyo, is in the process of reinforcing its staff and has vacancies for Ship Surveyors in Antwerp.

 The surveyor will be responsible for survey/audit of ships and inspection of material/equipment such as:

Carrying out classification surveys and statutory surveys on behalf of various governments to ensure the compliance with applicable ClassNK rules and various international conventions.

• Conduct audits in accordance with ISM and ISPS Codes.
• Conduct miscellaneous surveys such as damage surveys, pre-purchase condition surveys, etc.

 The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent.
• A minimum of 4-10 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory level position, such as, chief engineer, superintendent, repair manager, surveyor, etc.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled team with high flexibility.
• Experience in ISM/ISPS audit is desirable but not a must.
